Accreditation
The master’s degree program in nursing at Nevada State University is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.
** Students are required to hold an active, unencumbered license in the state in which they reside and/or in the state where the student’s practice experiences will occur. The state in which the student’s practice experiences occur must be listed as one of the approved states for this program. Nevada State University is authorized to offer online education to students in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin through the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). Nevada State University is also authorized to offer the online MSN program to students from California.
Admission Requirements
Traditional MSN Pathway applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Official transcripts sent to the Office of Admissions
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Preferred: At least one year of nursing experience
- Resume or CV
- Career goals statement
ADN -to-MSN Pathway applicants must hold:

- An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- A bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field
- Active, unencumbered RN license
Additional coursework required (RN to BSN level):

- NURS 451 – Scholarly Inquiry in Nursing
- NURS 462 – Community Health Nursing
- NURS 461 – Nursing Leadership
All other MSN admission requirements apply.
